Miss Tomasetti

Ms. Tomasetti was born and raised in Chicago, IL (Go Bears/Hawks/Bulls/Sox!) and graduated from Hinsdale South High School in 2004, where she was the varsity goalie for the girls’ soccer team, as well as a swimmer. A lifelong athlete, she has been recognized by the Chicago Sun-Times as an "outstanding goalie" and a "key player" for the Hornets by the Daily Herald. As a club player, her team (Daredevils S.C.) rose to become one of the top teams in Illinois and the midwest, placing second in the western hemisphere’s largest soccer tournament in 2002.

After graduation, Ms. Tomasetti attended Western Illinois University and followed her passion by earning a BA in Sociology and Women’s Studies, with research emphasis in race relations and demographics. Her undergraduate thesis, entitled "Race and Place in Urban America", explored violence between minority groups as analyzed through the lens of conflict theory.
Ms. Tomasetti felt that the best application of her sociology degree would be through teaching, and believes education is a major factor in changing one’s "place" in society. She is thrilled to join the Social Studies Department at NDHS and begin fostering civic awareness and responsibility while empowering the next generation, through teaching, coaching, and advising. Her goal is to both educate and inspire, and considers every newfound passion for the social sciences to be a success story.

In her spare time, she enjoys literature, live music, arthouse film, playing sports of any kind, gaming, and traveling. She currently resides in Orlando, FL.
